Game is not Victim sided or Family sided it's both.
~//~Much like in DBD I've come to the conclusion that besides bugs (which are obviously not intended) the only thing OP is the maps. The Family house is probably the most family sided map in the game, it's nearly impossible to escape with a good enough setup. And Gas Station is too Victim sided. Besides that though, I think this game is pretty well done overall. But I think the Family house needs some work, and the Gas Station needs some work to bring them close in line with something like the Slaughter House which I think is fair for both roles. Besides these two maps, I think the balance is well done, and people complaining about it being too Family sided are probably really bad at the game, or they're getting family house. Won't lie, this was mainly a post about the Family house, but I'd be a hypocrite if I also didn't mention the Gas Station.~//~

(Would like to state, because I'm not a troglodyte, my opinions have drastically changed from this over the course of my now added 200 Hours into TCM, I can confidently say that the game is decently balanced, besides a few issues with each and every map. Main ones being Slaughter House's Slaughter House, with that place that has the 10 gaps Victims can play Whack-a-Mole with. And the obvious unfair Pressure Valve Spawns on it. Gas Station has a glaring issue with it's poor design of the Gas Station Exit, followed by the high quantity of bushes Victims can choose to hide in indefinitely to ensure they escape. And Family House, for it's Obvious Oppression for Victim Players as they're completely incapable from escaping regardless of the types of Family Members they're up against, so long as they're pro-active and good at the game, you have no chance to escape.

dbd is incredibly survivor sided
2 years ago or more? Sure.
Not at the moment. It's been killer sided in general and you're not facing the top 5% 4 man army engineers every match anyway.

What is a winning as killers? Killing all 4? You can't kill all 4 whatever you do if victims don't waste time and know what they are doing.

no, it's always been incredibly survivor sided and increasingly so. it was that way 3 months ago when I still watched dbd streams and I doubt these devs magically learned how to balance properly all of a sudden.

Playing on game pass, VERY killer sided game, Like insanely so. I'm ok with that as a killer main, but I'm worried its going to kill the game fast, VHS had the same problem, they where insanely survivor sided and the game died in a few weeks.

I thought that also, but as the people get higher level you notice survivors getting out way quicker. Most games they have opened a door within 1-2 mins, when I first started, Bubba was getting 2-3k before the other Family could even go downstairs. Now its usually 0 kills and a door is open. I think the true balance will be figured out soon enough.

Family House is fine. Slaughter House is not fine, mainly because of the Slaughterhouse itself and the fact that you can power the valve escape from the basement. Gas Station's main problem is the generator escape not actually needing you to kick the generator, and the placement of obstacles in the basement making Leatherface useless at the start. Overall, most of the overpowered stuff is on the Victim side, such as stabbing Grandpa to remove 4 levels and being able to run for 4 full Stamina bars with the Choose Flight perk. And 12 second stuns.

DBD is Killer and Survivor sided, I'd say if you don't spend money and you play the game as you Bought it. Yes, DBD is Survivor sided. You have to pay money to actually play killer. (Unless you're nurse) You don't have to pay money to play as survivor

yeah, that's what I thought. That's how it seemed in the beta.

I just finished a match where i was running from both johnny / the cook / and leatherface all chasing em down like a dog for about 3 minutes, they chased me for a while upstairs, into the house, and eeven into the basement, and what do i see once im dead?

The other 2 survivors wanking each other off hiding not doing anything to progress the match,, this happens often because people are still learning the game and map layout, where even if i escape. eveyrone else dies because they don't know where the exit gates are.

this problem is why the victims die so often right now. Because people don't know what to do, similar to dbd having survivors avoiding gens like the plague.
The Professor Aug 19, 2023 @ 11:42pm
I just had a match on Family House as Cook. I beelined for for the front door to padlock it, then padlocked the back gate (as in the gate that leads to the open area out back, not the actual exit by the car battery) and the door leading outside the house. By the time I had finished this, not even stopping for blood, the basement exit was opened about 15 seconds later.

I had to close that due to harassment.
