You dont have to mash. you can literally hold the button
not really , the killers cant even move for like 15 seconds after the suvivors start messing with their ropes. so youre good.
Yeah I now understand the theory of why you wouldn't want to struggle fast, but in practice I've never seen Grandpa wake up right away when doing it. Does it just lower the threshold so the smallest of sounds wakes him up after the cutscene?
There are perks to avoid raising grandpas noise meter early in the game so that's a possibility.
But yeah running, picking items too loudly, running into bone traps, etc....all count as noise.
