How does opening the pressure valve door work?

Found the valve, used it and went to the door, waited there and... nothing?
No idea what I was supposed to do because the devs decided to make it overcomplicated, so I hope you guys can help me.

The valve exit opens after a few seconds.

Over complicated? It's literally a 2 step process... like lockpicking.

It can take a while for it to actually open. Same when you turn off the valve, the gate takes a while to close.

I did wait for the door and at the end nothing happened the door was still closed

The water valve basicly works this way.
You find the valve, bring it to the Water deposit thingie, and turn it on.
Then you can see there's like a meter display that goes from red to green. It needs to fill up and it will make the pressure high which will open the door. And then you have until the display goes back to the red bar which will then close.
I'm not exactly sure but I'd say it takes around 1~2 minutes for it to close

It doesn't open an exit near to you, usually it opens a door opposite side of the map. It's for helping other people escape - that's why nobody uses pressure valve as an exit.

I literally waited next to the door and saw it fill up till the end but it didn't work so I thought there was more to do but I guess it was just bugged for me then.

If you know where to find the valve exit (it's fixed for every map), there's more than enough time for you to spin the valve+get to the exit.
Unless a killer is nearby, then they can shut off the valve before the door opens.
