How to make MBB2(and most Renpy games) run on Android devices...

Before I get started, I would like to say that if Lach ever releases official mobile ports of his games, PLEASE BUY THEM!!!!! The following is a workaround and should only ever be considered when no official method is functional.

If you're like me, you'd probably like to play MBB2 on the go now and then. Well the only PROPER way to do this has been to use Steam Link, but anyone who's used Steam Link outside of the home(and many who only use it in the home) know of the many issues that can come of using Steam Link that negatively impact enjoyability.

Since Renpy has Android build support built in, I have in the past built Android builds of MBB1 and 2, which varying degrees of success. Though my last MBB2 build, created when The Witch Trials was the latest update, worked well, the new one I tried to build simply refused to install for reasons I don't know.

But while looking into things, I discovered something new has come out since my last build. An app, in the Google Play store, known as "JoiPlay."

JoiPlay is EXPRESSLY DESIGNED to run RPG Maker and Renpy games on Android without needing actual Android packages.

So here's the process...

Step 1: Go to Google Play and install JoiPlay (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cyou.joiplay.joiplay&hl=en_US&gl=US )
Step 2: While sitll on Google Play, install Ren'Py Plugin for JoiPlay (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cyou.joiplay.renpy )
Step 3: Go into JoiPlay's app permissions and stop it from using mobile data while in background (this is optional but I recommend it for ALL ad-supported free apps)
Step 4: Copy the MBB2 folder onto your device's storage.
Step 5: Open JoiPlay
Step 6: Push the + button in the bottom right,
Step 7: Set the game name, then the path for the EXE to the BiggerBust.exe file in the MBB2 folder.
Step 8: Select the option that now appears in the JoiPlay window.
Step 9: ENJOY.

Since this is a workaround you may encounter some oddities. The only issue I have had, however, is that when I loaded for the first time the text box was almost completely opaque. But when I loaded it again later for more tests, it was properly transparent. I cannot for the life of me guess why this is, but it is.

Sadly, this option works only for Android as JoiPlay is an Android exclusive app. But even if it worked for iOS I would have no ability to test it properly.

Hope this helps someone who's been wanting this, and I again ask that you PLEASE BUY ANY OFFICIAL ANDROID VERSION THAT SHOULD BE RELEASED IN THE FUTURE - THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SHORT-TERM WORKAROUND ONLY TO BE USED IN THE ABSENCE OF AN OFFICIAL PORT.
