I think I've come up with something, So After Atsuki and Shiroya go into the future Sai, Erena, Isla, and Akaro check the Janitor's closet yeah? Since Sai probably hid the future Sekimeiya there I assume he figured out what happened to the other three.

So I think he pointed out the fake, glowing Sekimeya to make people think that was the one that did it, but stayed behind to pick up the powered off Future Sekimeya to hide it somewhere else. The game even says that he's the last to leave the closet so I think it's possible, And I think that explains why Isla went to Room A5, Sai was checking the rooms in hallway A, and Isla was observing him, I think she might've noticed that he had something in his pouch but it disappeared after he went into room A5.

She was going to prove something, the game even said that she had a confident look a couple lines later. Though when she opened the cabinet where Sai hid the Sekimeya, she saw her own corpse/another Isla, the game practically says it. But the rest confuses me, in particular: where did the Sekimeya go? and did Isla go into the past, or future? just before she disappears both Sekimeya are in room A5 so it's possible, but I feel like the fact the game is being vauge on where the Sekimeya were at the moment of her death is interesting... and the fact that the past Sekimeya appeared in there later, and the Future one appeared in B5 just before Atsuki and Shiroya arrived, something happened. I don't think Sai, or Akuro had the chance to move it there, So maybe it was Katei who moved the future sekimeya, I wouldn't be sure why though, but maybe that broke whatever loop Isla might've been stuck in. and I think the loud slam of the cabinet closing might've had something to do with it too, the narration makes it clear it caused something bad.

Other than that I'm completely lost, though the narrator says that everyone contributed to her death. Sai is obvious, Maybe Atsuki and Shiroya too for using the future Sekimeya, and... possibly Katei for either maybe moving the sekimeya, or from being the one that opened the cabinet again. But what about Erina and Akuro? Unless if Her opening and closing those cabinets and doors did something, or the fact the other three characters stuck close to her because she was in distress and possibly didn't try harder to solve the mystery immediately. It's a stretch though. and I'm unsure about Akuro.

Your post helped me put together a theory on the cause. Sai had just put the Past Sekimeiya into the cabinet. Isla looked inside and saw her own body which caused her to fall in and touch it, going backwards in time by a very short amount. Because the Past Sekimeiya works by replicating your future location it then tried to replicate her into a position where her body already occupied. Because the lid shut there was no way for her future body to not occupy that space, therefore causing her to overlap with herself and kill her. When Atsuki did very short time-jumps he would always appear behind himself, but Isla couldn't do that because of it being an enclosed space so she could only appear in the exact same space that her future body occupied.

I'm not sure if that's right but I think it has to be something like this.

Ah, Sai actually just put the Future sekimeya in the cabinet. And Atsuki theorised that it might've been the same one he put the past one in as well. And another thing, I don't think the Future sekimeya can replicate someone's future position of when they're dead, I think they would just cease to exist in that case.

But here's the first thing: there were two isla's in that cabinet, How? the past sekimeya. We know it had to have been powered on by that point But if that was the case where did isla go? I feel like the answer of it being the past sekimeya is wrong, but if it's the future sekimeya, how?

let's say for instance that this happened: Isla B1 saw isla B2 in the cabinet, fell in, accidentally touched a powered on Future sekimeya and went Far enough into the future that Erina, Sai, and Akuro couldn't find them. Isla B2 and B1 probably appeared outside of the Cabinet after the three went upstairs, and B1 could've touched a powered on Past sekimeya to eventually turn into Isla B2. If Both Sekimeya were kept inside the cabinet for instance then I could see Isla B2 eventually getting stuck inside the Cabinet again if she touched a powered on future sekimeya as Erina Sai, and Akuro come back downstairs. I think them not seeing Katei appear is important, especially since the chart shows that the future sekimeya was out of room A5 and in B5 for whatever reason, maybe isla did it? but Katei is more reasonably suspicious. At that Point I think isla B2 would've appeared in the Cabinet, soon touching the powered on past Sekimeya and still being trapped in the cabinet.

Everything falls apart after that though, why wasn't any Sekimeya in the cabinet when They found Isla B2 inside? Unless if Katei took them both out I can't see there being an explanation. THough I feel like when they first found isla inside the cabinet, she wasn't dead. From what I read they didn't really check her pulse, only finding that she was cold and unmoving. So it... might be possible she was just unconcious, only really dying when someone put the past sekimeya in the cabinet next to her.

This feels like a very sloppy version of events, but I can see it working maybe.

If it makes you feel better i just did re-read the game for tips and there's not even a single towards what Isla saw or why she died in any of them.

I actually watched a streamer play the game who had the idea that sekimeya’s gas killed Isla. Which makes sense, we don’t know what affects it’ll have in a cramped space like the cabinet, but if it’s not breathable then I can see how Isla could’ve suffocated so fast.

Though the game did heavy imply Isla thought she saw her ‘friend’, which was just another Version of her. So I think it’s fair to assume she saw herself in that cabinet.
