Steamdeck crashes

This game used to be just fine on my steamdeck, but now it's constantly crashing. Mostly this seems to happen when I'm placing decorations, but I'm not sure how related that is. I've tried compatibility mode too and I get the same results.

My steamdeck is a model 1

Hi,
Have you tried completely turning off the steamdeck and then turning it on so that the system has more memory to run the game?

Hi,
Have you tried completely turning off the steamdeck and then turning it on so that the system has more memory to run the game?

I tried this and it worked for a little while, but eventually it still froze up. I should clarify, in case it's different, that the game doesn't close, instead it freezes my entire deck. I've tried to leave it alone (watched a 25 min YouTube video) just in case it was buffering but no, it's just frozen, and even trying to access menus on the deck outside of the game doesn't work, making me have to do a hard reset on the console.

And once again it crashed while I was fideling with decorations. I also tried lowering the graphics and it didn't do anything at all to help.

Does this happen with different decorations or does the game crash with a specific one?
At what level in the game does this happen?

It's different decorations, it's happened with driftwood and Coral and basically anything that I can precisely manipulate.

I can't get past the first level. I've been able to get all the way to the Dad's tank but when I start to decorate it eventually crashes again.

I just want to let you know that after having this same problem with other games, I've come to the conclusion that this is an issue with my deck and not the game. Sorry about that!

Thank you for the information. If you find a reason why your steamdeck is crashing during games, please let us know so that we can help others players with similar problems (maybe you need to update your steamdeck system? Or maybe you don't have enough space on memory disk?)

I have this issue constantly... It's only on this game... I've played fallout 4 for hours at a time and it doesn't freeze.... I could be just filling a tank with water and it freezes. It doesn't matter the level, it forces me to have to turn the steam deck off by power button and then back on.... Any resolution to this??

We are currently working on finding the reason why the game freezes on some devices (on some steamdecks everything works fine, on others it crashes from time to time). We wonder if it may be related to some settings on the stemadeck or disk space.

It seems to only happen when I'm decorating, specifically spinning/resizing items that I've really noticed. It's makes me think it's a memory issue, but every other game is now working fine on my deck so I don't know what could be the problem with this game? I think I have a suspicion why there might be such a problem, but I need to check it out. Could you please enter the game into designer mode and buy the rocket decoration there as in the screenshot: https://ibb.co/QDJW8bh
And try to rotate it and enlarge it (this shouldn't cause errors).


And then buy a skull like this on the screenshot:https://ibb.co/hLCpmZ9
And do the same with it, try to rotate it, enlarge it (if what I think turns out to be true, a freeze should appear with this decoration)
