Not to mention they would need to create a big map and refine the combat a lot more.
On the other hand, a good franchise ip is a very good asset that might help in many situations.
Probably the original team is mostly gone as well so it's hard to find the same vision for the 3rd game
And number 3 is cursed
We wanted to create a game that introduced newcomers to the universe, so we decided to create a game that was set in the same world, but that if you hadn't played ZC1 & 2 you could still follow the story, and not feel like you lost out on a bunch of things, and still feature a lot of lore and connections with the other games that would be perceived by our returning community. So we kept 'Clash' in the title, but from the beginning made sure to communicate that we were not making a sequel to Zeno Clash.
Not all of the members that worked on ZC1 are still with us, but the main creators of the universe, yep, we're all still here. :-)
This was directed by the same people that made the first two games.
