Companies won't take "pre-orders" on your money and give you the product up front, so why do the opposite?

I don't understand the comparison. Players who preordered want the game to be released in this bad state and you think that's ok? What does that have to do with developers?
The game is nowhere near ready in almost any sense. Even if the specialist system wasn't there you still have the technical issues, under-powered weapons, and bland looking maps.
And for the umpteenth time. Digital releases are not finite. There. Is. No. Reason. To. Preorder.
Its not a limited physical run that you can miss out on... 🙄
