Just sayin
If we go by that message, they have said they wanted to maintain the core experience. We have heard that before, they have told us how they "going back to the roots" and we have this amalgamation of DooM, Apex and CoD. I would pretty much like them being honest and share the changes they have made along these months, when they go back to the black board.
Secondly, they only confirm a post-release update that separate characters and perks; which is a big "IF" for anyone capable of reading between the lines. If this game fails to take enough interest at the initial sales, it will flop and they will never release such update by the concerns of denting monetization.
Killing Floor fans are sure loyal to this franchise and being very supportive, but no fan base would stay for long with you if you try to suppress their voice and ignore them.
It's two part.
- Most KF1 and KF2 vets don't like the design changes (perk -> hero shooter, tying character to class, zed design changes that affect lore, guns are more more bland, arcadey, and stat driven).
- There are also significant bugs and a clear lack of polish/care, to an extent that 3 weeks isn't enough to fix.
But at least they did listen to us, thats what counts!
They took out everything what made the game fun and made it a cheap CoD mobile+ overwatch clone.
-Hero shooter
-Abilites
-Less gore
-More edar like zeds
-Sliding mechanics
-Generic looking characters
-Horrible map design
-"Blood" literally everywhere so it looked like they just painted everything in red
-Weird sci-fi weapons
-You can only carry 3 heals with you
-Suicidal difficulty got removed
-KF2 flex gore system is by far better than the new gore system
The only good thing about the game is the music and the weapon attachment i guess?
Yeah, thats true. Hopefully the next beta will be better.
Killing Floor 2 was basically more of Killing Floor 1, but better, and it was quite well received, so I frankly fail to see how expecting 3 follow that pattern is a bad thing. The wheel doesn't always need reinvented.
Killing Floor 3 is neither more of 2 nor better.
