Killing Floor 3

Killing Floor 3

What happened the passion and care?

Like look at this! And all the other dev dairies that went into detail on every gun, gore, and more. Where is this level of detail and passion in this game??

John Gibson no longer works there ("resigned")

The Creative Director in KF2 is Bill Munk, the Creative Director in KF3 is Bryan Wynia

But, yeah, the same people behind KF2 are not steering the ship in KF3.

That's absolutely disheartening... The Zed time and seeing every little detail in your gun jiggle was such a cool touch and now in zed time you just get super speed reloads??? It's so boring...

Not to mention the gore system and so so much more. I want this game to do well though I hope things improve..

Vanished with the old devs i guess, just like with most modern day aaa gaming studios, the suits took over, saw the latest trends that make money and decided "thats what we need to do". So now we have a lazy cashgrab with forced modern day fps mechanics and removed core gameplay features from the previous games.

Like your thread title says, the key word is passion. It's all about passion when it comes to making a good game.

KF3 gives off vibes that they didn't care for Killing Floor as a franchise and were just focused on what they *thought* would sell the most copies by borrowing from other games that sell more.
I’m mad I let’s everyone’s opinion change mine before I played it, I really like it and it runs well but I have a higher end pc it’s a new killing floor set in the future and I’m okay with it.

This is what i miss the most actually. The weapons are so generic and bland. The medic guns are just laser pew pew pews. Beside the uzi and mp5, they're all fantasy weapons and a revamp of the same one weapon, atleast for the medic. Im not expecting a 50+ weapons in the shop, in a beta. But the current game state is missing the mark.

The originals emphasised more on weapons and style of playing. Like dual handcannons, scar or whatever. Packing a real punch to stronger enemies or situational neccesity.

And this doesnt translate well in the maps either. There no well designed dense small alleys, windows etc. Barely gun blazing threw the chaos. While we all known this was the KF moments that made us play the game.

Shift running/shifting, reviving, utility drops, gamehelper mechanics like drones, heal zones etc are all not helping for creating a dire situation ingame.

And vissually there can be said a lot as well. All these facets are intertwined that deliver a rather distaste of an experience.

Hope they can go back to the roots what worked well for KF and its players. New mechanics are not perse bad. But this is a kinda overdone.

I was honestly pretty shocked when I was level 1 and when Zed Time hit, I was basically skating through all the zeds, speeding reloading, etc. In KF2, the main rewards for hitting max level was a talent that buffs you during Zed Time.

Now everyone just get super speed/reload during zed time... right at level 1? So lame.

No wonder this game looks and feels completely different then

Audiences which they are targeting have the attention span of a literal goldfish and require constant action so everything is sped up quite a bit.
Just had a whole thread deleted about this (LMAO), but effectively 2 things:

1. Original CEO behind all the games got fired 2021. Because of twitter comments.
2. Tripwire was bought by a holder company, 2022, that is struggling to this day. So they're corner cutting 100%.

KF3 is the first Tripwire game without the CEO and also potentially under unrealistic targets by its parent company. They want cash and they want it fast.

I don't "hate" this game. But certainly the 'Umph' that the first two entries has seems missing. Don't know if its because it's set in the future?

The guns don't feel like they have any characteristics or bite. I don't even mean the design themselves. I mean when you 'left click' it all feels very floaty like APEX Legends.

Also, the waves of zeds need to be more frequent and 'personal'. They don't feel as threatening as they should. I can see the MEAT gore is improved, however, I'm killing zeds so far away I can't even see the visceral gore like in the first two.

Listen, the first two games had issues too (I remember I was pissed about the RNG cosmetics in KF2 especially) when they first started. But, I have hope that the intentions here are meant to be good. Tripwire has too many good shooters under its belt. Their best characteristic has always been the 'feel' of how the guns felt (among their other technical merits).

I can only judge what I've seen online, but yeah, the guns seem to handle like peashooters compared to KF1/2

The shotguns are specifically anemic. In both audio and feel.
