The Creative Director in KF2 is Bill Munk, the Creative Director in KF3 is Bryan Wynia
But, yeah, the same people behind KF2 are not steering the ship in KF3.
Not to mention the gore system and so so much more. I want this game to do well though I hope things improve..
KF3 gives off vibes that they didn't care for Killing Floor as a franchise and were just focused on what they *thought* would sell the most copies by borrowing from other games that sell more.
The originals emphasised more on weapons and style of playing. Like dual handcannons, scar or whatever. Packing a real punch to stronger enemies or situational neccesity.
And this doesnt translate well in the maps either. There no well designed dense small alleys, windows etc. Barely gun blazing threw the chaos. While we all known this was the KF moments that made us play the game.
Shift running/shifting, reviving, utility drops, gamehelper mechanics like drones, heal zones etc are all not helping for creating a dire situation ingame.
And vissually there can be said a lot as well. All these facets are intertwined that deliver a rather distaste of an experience.
Hope they can go back to the roots what worked well for KF and its players. New mechanics are not perse bad. But this is a kinda overdone.
Now everyone just get super speed/reload during zed time... right at level 1? So lame.
No wonder this game looks and feels completely different then
1. Original CEO behind all the games got fired 2021. Because of twitter comments.
2. Tripwire was bought by a holder company, 2022, that is struggling to this day. So they're corner cutting 100%.
KF3 is the first Tripwire game without the CEO and also potentially under unrealistic targets by its parent company. They want cash and they want it fast.
The guns don't feel like they have any characteristics or bite. I don't even mean the design themselves. I mean when you 'left click' it all feels very floaty like APEX Legends.
Also, the waves of zeds need to be more frequent and 'personal'. They don't feel as threatening as they should. I can see the MEAT gore is improved, however, I'm killing zeds so far away I can't even see the visceral gore like in the first two.
Listen, the first two games had issues too (I remember I was pissed about the RNG cosmetics in KF2 especially) when they first started. But, I have hope that the intentions here are meant to be good. Tripwire has too many good shooters under its belt. Their best characteristic has always been the 'feel' of how the guns felt (among their other technical merits).

I can only judge what I've seen online, but yeah, the guns seem to handle like peashooters compared to KF1/2
The shotguns are specifically anemic. In both audio and feel.
Ugh...bring him back. Didn't know that. Things have changed again! They need him! lol
