Killing Floor 3

Killing Floor 3

Killing floor 3 is ultimately disappointing
Coming from someone who started with KF2 and played KF1 later down the road and loved the prior games KF3 is a upsetting disappointment it feels like the game caters to a new audience and abandons the fans of the series

KF2 had a similar response from the KF1 fans on release - and they were right there as well. It took a while for the game to properly come together, and I expect that KF3 will be much improved after a year.

It does feels a little more by the numbers this time round, though.

I don't doubt that KF3 will be improved much more significantly later down the road but frankly its just gonna end up being another payday 3 situation again and its upsetting is all

I started with KF1 and went into KF2 loving it. I liked KF1 more for just the crazy cool modding community, but KF2 was amazing albeit a bit buggy and needing of more content.

But KF3 so far feels... Unpolished and messy at the moment. Yes it is a beta, but it's only about 4-5 weeks away from launch. This is essentially the final build we're going to get.

The animations are so janky and feels clunky to move around. I'll play more tomorrow since I'm only one game in, but seeing people play, reading reddit/forums, trying it for myself it's got me a bit disheartened..

It says alot when I don't even want to buy the game on launch. I bought KF2 on launch and played the hell out of it. Sure it was a little different then KF1 but overall it was a good sequel. I look at KF3 and I'm not touching it on launch and am going to wait for a massive sale. I'm not the only one who feels that way and its a sad state of affairs.

They added and changed some things for the better but overall they took a massive step backwards on so so many things.

I was there for the start of KF2, at the start it had good bones and just needed more, which is fine. This and I hesitate to usually put beta's to a high standard has an absolutely awful direction, I'm struggling to think of anything redeemable.

Each character only gets 4 weapons to pick from total and the designs of the characters and monsters are all just, generic sci-fi

I will add that I'd like to be proven wrong by the full release but to me it just seems like the game wants to go in a direction I don't want to follow

To be fair, anyone can use anyone's weapons, so the pool is completely open - I do agree that the characters are all a bit boring, though.

I think the game's big sin is that it's just completely average and forgettable, and much of that is because the sense of grime and nastiness feels like it's gone. I suspect if that was re-injected, people would feel much more positive about the game and it's future.

It's not a bad game - anyone talking about it being a dreadful game just hasn't ever played a game that was actually dreadful - but I just don't find anything in it to compel me to play it over anything else. But I'm very open to Tripwire fixing it, and which point I'll happily be a customer.

I know this is just the beta but I hope they have more guns we can use on launch cause this is just disappointing.

Can you grab the others? One of ours died and didn't leave a gun but they may have DC'd too.

Yeah I can definitely agree, it's bland and just generic, it's definitely not Hunt down the freeman bad.

do not even try to compare kf2 start to this what kf3 is going to be in 1 month, not much will change in this time if this build they gave us to test is not some really old build to troll us which i will not belive, but i would like to. Tripwire made last game in their company history if they will not listen to what people are saying after the beta. Instead of fun game with class leveling and variety of guns to kill mutants we got most generic hero shooter noone asked for. Also do not forget they about to milk Mr.foster classic suit bundle once again for nostalgia which was in premium in-game store already.

No, you just buy them in the store like any other gun. Click the class icons - it's not exactly well sign posted, but they're all there. I've definitely had Katanas on Foster.

I'm not comparing them, I'm just saying that KF2 faced a lot of "New thing bad/Old thing good" at launch as well, and it turned out fine. If there's ever a KF4, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that there will be people lamenting that it's not a patch on good old KF3.

But this is something pretty much every video game series suffers with, of course.

Ah gotcha, at least that's one less complaint for me to have!

You might still have a valid complaint; I don't know how much the perk trees support in-class weapons specifically as I've not played enough yet (and might not). If the perks DO support the weapons you're supposed to use, then it's just an illusion of choice really.
Waiting so much for that game to play 20 minutes before uninstaling. It dont feel like Killing Floor at all. Its a mix between so many game that the game lost is identity.

Its coming out in 3 weeks so.. there is not enough time to fix all the issues. KF2 wasn't that bad when it came out. Pretty sure it had good reviews cuz i bought it on day one.
