I was thinking it was a futuristic AUG too, I think the revolver is a futuristic Chiappa Rhino. That said, they both look bad, setting KF3 so far into the future was a mistake. Also the iron sights on the AUG are horrible.

It's one of the direct results of them making John gibson step down. He was the major driver behind tripwires legacy of excellent gun modeling, animations and sound. The year he left was the last year they released any actual amount of real weapons for the series. The g36c was the only real weapon put in the game after that and it was probably just a hold over. I think the "gun porn" aspect of the series is dead.
