"You need space on the table to consume this"

What exactly does this mean? I have a table (with a properly place chair) that has nothing on it so I'd assume it has space.. but I can't eat anything except toast because "you need space on the table". I tried to buy food from the pub and eat it there, but again "you need space".

I have a chair that is placed in one of the indicated slots and rotated so it is facing the table.

I'll have to try this when I'm done eating irl. Would be kinda weird tho if the chair needs to be on a specific side or spot when there are multiple spots for it around the table.

I have my chair on the left side of the table facing the table ofc. First I have to sit down on the chair, then if I click on the egg in my inventory my sim put the food on a plate on the table and eat it. Hope this helps you. :)

So moving the chair to a different spot around the table didn't work for me, but I managed to fix the issue by re-packing the table and the chair and then placing them down again.

Choosing the chair, then sitting on it, and only then choosing the food from the inventory worked for me

Already tried it with the chair and moved it. Doesn't work for me either.

had same issue. moved table and chair to a different spot and then it worked

for everyone stumbling into this. Pick up your table in build mode. there will be an arrow pointing. Set the chair where the arrow points and it will work
