Game is unplayable with gamepad

My wife bought the game. After switching to another layout via Steam at least input was recognized. But creating a character was not possible at all, because every time she tried to change a color, the whole game bugged out.

Controls were recognized in the color wheel, same as the bar right next to it.
Typing in a hex code, also changes the color wheel position.
Then she tried to change the color of a skirt, but the game would only open the color options for the shirt...

Of course it's just an early access title. But as a developer myself, things like that have to work from the beginning. We finally gave up and will refund the game :( Maybe she will try again after full release

We're sorry to hear you had that experience. We've done our best to have the game as ready as possible for the EA Release, however we have had a few bugs appear last moment with our controller support. We're getting ready to send out a patch to fix these issues in the next hours.

Store page says partial controller support, but yeah it probably should just say unsupported at this point.

I confirm the problem. I use a gamepad and I can't even continue the first phone conversation.

I had to put the controls on Auto for it to work on Gamepad instead of on Gamepad in the settings. It worked fine when I switched it to auto.
