Random Catastrophes and Weather consequences

Do I need to make a new save file to get random catastrophes and weather consequences once I enable then? I have been running the plant for about 5 in game days and haven't noticed any. I have already restated the game as it mentions a reboot is required to apply changes.

Also can anyone give me any info in these? For example how often will a random catastrophe happen and what type of catastrophes can I expect? Also are the weather consequences severe or subtle, as in will I notice them in my day-to-day operations or are they just tweaking core heat depending on the temp of the day?

Anything yet? I've only ever had 1, but that was on like day 3 and now im on day 24...

Nothing yet, dose it give you an alert that somethings happening or do you just notice it later?

It's super rare, also there is no warning, something just fails.
