Has anyone found the recipe for making rations? also any news on finding algae for antidotes and is there a way to farm chunk of anima?

the recipe for rations is in the area right before the elevator leading down to the underground, just underneath a ramp.

Algae is all over the lake area (or alternatively, turn algae into seeds and harvest tem once they're grown), and I have to say if you haven't found algae by the time you've beaten the second boss, you literally had to try to NOT kill anything or press the attack button to achieve that.

As for chunk of anima, I think you can farm them from replaying boss battles, but I'm not really certain.

ration is basically cooking 1 piece of chunky meat

to get them you need to murder quite a number of worm like monsters in the underworld

What about the quest regarding "poison flowers" being planted in the aquatic garden in the underworld? Are the poison flowers a mistranslation?

Yes it is mistranslation. I did the quest by planting corpse flower instead.

technically no the JP text does say 毒花 which is literally poisonous flowers but it is refering to Corpse Flower (you can only craft Corpse Flower Seeds from the Black Market NPC)
