Disabled Antivirus
Still crashes after 5 seconds of gameplay.
Any other ideas?
Thank you for getting back to us.
We have taken another look at the Dxdiag you sent and noticed that your CPU does not match the minimum required to play the game. The minimum required is either an Intel Core i5-10600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT. As your CPU does not meet the minimum required to play the game you may experience problems trying to play it.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause in the meantime.
Regards,
Team17 Support
I get that my CPU doesn't meet the minimum requirements, but I'm confused because my system runs more demanding games just fine. Games that need higher specs work without crashes or major problems.
I've done all the troubleshooting you suggested, from updating drivers to system scans, but the game still crashes even at the lowest graphics settings. It's frustrating since other demanding games run smoothly.
Is there something specific about Age of Darkness' engine or requirements causing this? Any known optimization issues that could be affecting stability?
If you have any insights or upcoming updates that might help, let me know. I really want to enjoy the game!
Thanks,
Romantic Bob
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, different games have different requirements. You may be able to play other games with the same or higher system requirements but all games are different and can take different requirements.
You could try updating Windows:
- Select the Start button
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update
- Select Check for updates
- After installing the update, select Check Online for updates from Microsoft Update
We also see Nord VPN crashing so we'd recommend disabling it and seeing whether this helps in any way.You can also try running the game as an administrator:
- Right-click the game in your Steam Library.
- Go to Properties then the 'Installed Files' tab.
- Click 'Browse'
- Locate the game executable (the application).
- Right-click it and go to Properties.
- Click the Compatibility tab.
- Check the Run this program as an administrator box.
And try running Steam as an administrator as well:- Navigate to your Steam install folder (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam).
- Right-click the Steam executable.
- Follow the above steps to set it to Run as Administrator
- Restart Steam.
Unfortunately, we would not be able to help any further due to the CPU being under the requirements for the game but hopefully the above will help!Thank you.

Are you sure its not an issue on your end?
I am aware I am due for a new PC which will not happen until mid 2024
Thank you for getting in touch with us.
As previously mentioned above, all games have different requirements to work properly, some games may be playable when being under those requirements, and others will not be playable when not meeting the minimum requirements to play them.
I would recommend not playing games if your system specs do not meet the minimum to play them as this will put massive stress on your system.
If you have any other problems or questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
