Typical win pathing for each night is:
N1: 2-3 Ballista.
N2: 20-30 Archers and archer towers.
N3: 20 Snipers (arbalest) and archer towers.
N4: 30-40 snipers (arbalest) and 2-3 siege weapons, catapult being the best, 2 flame bellows.
N5: 20-30 Snipers and 2-3 siege weapons per path, 2 flame bellows.
Braced walls from 3 on and
I usually do fortified walls in front of my bellows and archer towers.
This works for Nightmare so the rest should be cake if you can manage this. Nightmare's last night seems to cheese the waves and splits them up so they don't follow the pathing shown by the tower.
After wave 3 you can start to sacrifice archers for Arbalests, I usually just nuke them all after night 4.
Great advice, I've been thinking this MUST be the way I win Survival given my utter failure, so far, to deliver a win.
Light the whole map and then sell the towers before they get eaten to reclaim some resources.
Currently struggling on the final stand on Horrific. Definitely need more snipers as they do the most to crushers. 4 crushers on each wall is whooping my butt!
Any input on nuking your economy for the last wave? It seems useless to let them eat everything little by little. I haven't struck a balance that allows me to keep up unit production so it comes down to wall spamming once the farmlands fall.
I saw a youtube video who beat the highest difficulty and the person did it with mainly static defence + mobile trebuchets (dunno the name). More than half the map was still retained when victory, I think it's about defending forward like walls close to nightmare spawn points so you get to save more of the map. This is what I did tho I'm still on normal - haven't done it myself, just saw it on youtube.
