We were playing on Easy (unlimited saves). The save was just greyed out and unusable. There are so many damn issues with co-op mode is borderline unplayable. We've had 5 crashes in a 3 hour session... that is just ridiculous.
Hey there!
Sorry about this issue you're going through. I just spoke with our team, and they’ve recommended a couple of steps you can try:
- Restart the Game: Close and reopen the game to see if the save appears.
- Check Steam Cloud Storage: Verify that your Steam Cloud storage isn’t full. If it is, you might need to clear some space for new saves.
Also, could you confirm if Steam Cloud is enabled in these two places on your Steam client?
> Steam Settings:
- Go to Steam > Settings > Cloud > Ensure "Steam Cloud" is enabled.
> Game Properties:
- Right-click Age of Darkness > Properties > General > Ensure "Steam Cloud" is enabled.
Please let me know if restarting helps the save show up, or if you need help with any of the steps. I’m here to assist.
To load a save the two players need to be in the lobby.
If alone the save will be greyed out.
We both have plenty space on our Steam cloud and both our game clients have Cloud enabled fully. To answer the other comment as well, we were both in the lobby and with the same characters selected.
This is after we had to do the workaround with changing the download server in steam settings as we could simply not connect to each other as we are 2 time zones away, and even then, inviting was still failing, with the only option being the session ID.
I can't test again now, but we will try again tomorrow as we have a game in progress that hopefully we can load come tomorrow.
Completely randomly, I decided to delete an old autosave of a previous multiplayer game. Suddenly, the manual save of our current game became loadable. I couldn't get this to work consistently, though. I suppose somehow, this made the cloud save sync.
It seems like the game thinks there's a lot less cloud space for savegames than there actually is. I hope anyone else can come up with a consistent working solution.
