Yes he is easier to use initially on lower levels / waves, but after like 2nd wave I dump him in the base and he never really leaves it because he's not that useful.
Queen is harder on low levels, but on my first playthrough I leveled her far more then I did the fire guy ... so far reached level 7, summons up to 3 soldiers and has a ton of dmg. Also far better when standing at the door then fire guy.
I'm playing on Horrific, maybe fire guy is better on lower difficulties.
Now its level 10.
PS: I don't like her other power though, I tried it and my units were killed quicker..
Personally i Find Eldwin more Useful for Waves, and Queen more useful for Exploring, unless you Spam Archers or any Ranged units, Queens Ability to Trade HP for a Buff, isnt that useful on Melee Units, The 2nd i had her go defend a wave she died First immediately, VS Eldwin can actually tank a few hits and Clear Smaller Fry Faster.
Shes not that fancy, but personally i think shes really good at Exploring and Clearing Ground for you too expand. I got to Final Stand with Her VS with Eldwin I get stuck on Wave 4.
Then again i am using a mutator to Keep spawning Swarms in recently open Holes
She has guards that are kind of alright, just don't HP regen after battle. You have to keep using her summon ability to keep a healthy set around.
She does have her own primary attack that's pretty solid. It's a pierce/forward thrust pattern to go with her spear. Pretty good for death nights, since the attack pattern is ideal for waves funneled into a choke. You can also keep her back a bit more than fire guy and still be rather effective.
In short: Queen is for death nights. Edwin is for map clearing.
Which is why people are saying the fire dude starts stronger but falls off more than the queen at the end game.
She is interesting, but so far has been dying a lot more frequently than mr flame sword... at the moment have her at lvl 4.
Feel like she is missing a passive buff ability for troops. Everything is focused on her and her guardians, which isnt all that good so far. As a queen she should be more inspiring i guess? She seems very... selfish and spoiled.
Guess like most have been mentioning that she will excel once higher lvl and in the mid-late game.
First skill: Summons 1 soldier and level up of that skill increases maximum soldiers, up to 5.
Second skill: Starts of weak, but the bonuses later outscale the 30% max HP loss (which is irrelevant for ranged units anyways and melee is garbage)
Third skill: Summons the MAX amount of soldieres the first skill allows for. On level 10, thats 5 soldiers. Also gives a huge damage boost and CC, because it adds stun to the guards' and the queen's attacks.
Also her melee attack range (cleave attack) is a straight line which goes up to 6 and can hit a ton of nightmares at once. She does not have as much HP as the other dude, but she makes up for that by summoning free melee meatshields.
Now at lvl 5 its decent, but my other hero never died, this one did.
The buffs are not so great, and the skills, since they act as passives (summons) arent that fun.
