Play on Easy to begin with. That's what I am doing now to learn about the game, mechanics, building queues, units etc.
i swear to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god, i saved my game and just came back, only to find its gone and i have to start completely over again from act 1 mission 1, and this game isnt good enough to play through that slog again.
i defeated the Iron Talon main base. i was on my way to that fat bastard after giving the villagers the treasures. i 100%ed every mission and its such a boooooooore, i have no interest in playing all that ♥♥♥♥ again
Then you can restart and using the information from your "cartographer", you can get off to a better start.
It is rather amazing that they were able to rule a kingdom and build a giant castle, yet have no clue what is past one mile or so from the castle.
