Controllers not working anymore

Did something happen to the game recently?

Me and my girl has been playing the game for months now using two wireless xbox series x controllers via bluetooth. Game's been working like a charm, but today when I booted it up the game wouldn't even recognize one of the controllers and instead defaulted to keyboard?

Seems strange that it all of a sudden wouldn't work when nothing has changed. Same system as always. Anyone got any ideas for a solution?

yes i have the exact same issue here

no clue how to fix i guess you can try to manually set up your controller setting in steam options when you click it takes twin in your library, try not to use recommended settings and make your own or download community one and test it

I had the same problem with my dualsense controllers. Uninstalling and reinstalling the EA App fixed the issue here.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the EA App and it didn't work for me either.

I think I managed to fix my particular problem. I went into steam settings -> controller -> desktop layout -> and selected the Official Layout for - Disabled. I haven't tested it fully, but it worked in the menus. Hopefully this helps someone else!

What the f*ck did they do? I use to be able to play with with my Switch Pro controller and PS5 controller, now I can't play it with either...

I'va tried pretty much every suggestion I came across with no luck. It's for sure the EA app, before it was using origin and it worked. So thanks EA. I'm asking for the refund.

Dualsense Edge stopped working for me tonight. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with a ton of settings, got it working, closed out of game, booted it back up & it stopped working again. 😭 uninstalled EA app & got the controller working again, closed out of game, and it stopped working. going to try to reinstall the game itself.

EDIT: reinstalled and controller didn't work, lol. went back into controller layout section, searched for controller templates and scrolled waaaay down to a gamepad one, rather than the ones offered up top. Now it seems to be working even after i close out of the game or unplug and replug in the controller. hopefully this is fixed for good lol.

That really has helped! Thanks a lot. I've chosen a "It Takes Two: Gamepad" Template with approx 170hrs playtime, and both controllers are working now over steam link again

My problem was that only one controller was recognised ingame
and my solution was :
I switched game to “Move Or Die” and in the lobby i disconnected and reconnect both controllers until they both were showing up/working and then switched back to “It takes two”
