EA Launcher FIX
This was due an EA server error that corrupted the credentials of the login screen.

Here are the steps to fix it but keep in mind that if EA servers are having still issues, this won't completely fix it until they are back up again.

1) The first thing that you need to do it's to head over to Add or Remove Programs or "Apps & features" settings.

2) On the list of installed software, search for "EA app" and uninstall it completely.

3) Go to your steam library and locate the "It Takes Two" game on the left side. Right click on it and select "Manage", then select "Browse Local Files".

4) No you should be in the "ItTakesTwo" folder. Open the folder "__Installer\Origin\redist\internal".

5) Run the file "EAappInstaller.exe" to reinstall the EA Launcher.

6) Instead of opening the game again, open the EA Launcher from the "EA" shortcut that should be newly created in your desktop.

7) Try to log with your usual credentials. It's more likely telling you that the credentials are wrong or that are expired but don't panic.

8) Click on the recovering password option and enter your email used for your EA account, and select to get an email to reset your password.

9) Click the link that you will receive in your email inbox and create a new password.

10) Open the EA Launcher again and log in. Once you can log successfully, close the EA Launcher window and then from the notification area doing right click > Exit on it.

11) Launch the It Takes Two game. If everything went as expected, the EA Launcher should log you automatically and minimise to the notifications area.

12) Enjoy playing the game!

Sadly did not work. (I have spent so far 5 hours trying to make this game work so I can play with my friend)
Eraser8383 Jan 23, 2023 @ 8:51am
Mine it says that I do not have access and that the game must have been downloaded by another user that owns it... I have contacted EA 3 times, different solutions, nothing worked. The last one was to start downloading the free game Apex from the EA app, cancel it after a minute and try running the game, but it didn't work for me. Still looking for a solution...

So the EA app works fine for you?
Are you trying to run the game itself or the friend pass?
Yes... it was a gift from a friend. It is registered as gift/guest pass...

PS. Just now officially EA said there is no solution for me, we have tried everything... :S

Thanks for that. I just checked, my friend bought the full game for me. I have the actual game in my library - not the friend pass.

Then make sure that you actually run the right game and not the friend pass so you can invite your friend. Remember that your Steam account has to be linked with your EA account in order for the game to appear in your EA app game library. Check carefully that both, the EA account linked and the EA account being used are the same and that the game it's, indeed, in your EA game library and not only in your Steam one. You can always test if the game works just by using local mode. If it works in local mode then give it a try inviting a friend or someone else with the friend pass. Both of you need to be logged in, active, and be part of each other's friends list inside of the EA launcher or you won't be able to invite them.

Yeah, I don't have a friend pass at all. The game is not showing in the EA app, only on steam. My accounts are linked correctly. I'm not aware of local mode and I am not planning on playing with my friend, only locally with my SO. Unfortunately, the game has not ran since I downloaded it not even once, so I cannot see any menus, modes, etc. When I press play on Steam, it takes me to the EA app that says "You don't have access" and that's it. No game in my EA library... Talked to 5 representatives from EA, 2 over the phone, they told me to try different things like the ones you described, nothing worked, and now they said it is what it is, they cannot do anything about it :/ Btw, I also talked with Steam support, they said the game is correctly shown in my account and it is a prob with the EA app.

If the game does not show in your EA app or game library on their website then your Steam account hasn't been linked to your EA account, so the game didn't carry over.

Go to EA.com, log with your credentials, then go to this URL:

https://myaccount.ea.com/cp-ui/connectaccounts/index

At the left panel, bottom, you will see the "Connections" button. Click it and check if your Steam account appears there. If it does, check that it's the same account that you use on Steam and not a different one. If it's the same account, try to unlink it. Uninstall Origin if you have it installed from before, uninstall the EA app, and the whole It Takes Two game as well (disable cloud save for that game before uninstalling).

Open any folder and in the address bar write the following making sure to replace "USERNAME" with your computer's user name:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local

Inside you will see a folder named "Electronic Arts" and probably another one named
"EADesktop". Delete both if they are present.

Restart your computer, go to the EA.com site and download the EA Desktop app again and install it. Make sure to log in once it's installed.
Go to your Steam library and install the It Takes Two game. After installation, run it and it should ask you to link it to your EA account. Repeat the process of linking it to your Steam account to carry over the game. If you can't do it for some reason or you don't get asked to link it, then go to your EA account again and go back to connections. Since you have already unlinked your Steam account from there, use the button to link it again. If there is no button there, contact again EA and keep annoying them until the game shows properly in your collection.

Your library should show the It Takes Two game just like this:

If you can't manage to fix your issue still, we can still try more things just make sure to give me more details about all the issues and messages that you get so I can know where are you exactly.

Regards and good luck!!

i have the same problem and tried everything except this. The problem with this solution is if you unlink you EA account you have to wait 6 months to link it back to the same account. However if you wont play any EA titles the next 6 months though steam this might work. Than again it might not...

Wow thank you so much for all these detailed steps! The only issue is that I already tried to unlink my steam account and link it again, so now I have to wait until July to be able to do it again... I will try though the rest with the order you mention!

You can link it again... You cannot unlink it for 6 months. Otherwise, I would have completely deleted my EA account and create a new one from scratch (I literally own *no* EA games and I just got this one)

Maybe it's easier to get EA support on actually linking again your Steam and EA accounts together without having to wait 6 months than to get them fixing the issue. Just a guess. But can always explain to them that you two unlinked your accounts accidentally after the game not appearing in your game library.

No, the accounts are linked and cannot be unlinked... I actually asked them to unlink my account and delete it completely so I can create a new one and link from scratch, but they refused because of regulations about cheating etc. :S

The solution worked for me. Thank you for it!
One thing, I created a new EA account.
Maybe the issue was that I used option "login with Steam account". It showed that the account linked to the Steam account but the game didn't appear there. So probably EA app doesn't get on with option "login with Steam account" (my guess).

That's awesome! So, in 6 months I will try creating a new account, setting the reminder now :P

If you create a new EA account, you don't need to wait 6 months. Isn't that restriction imposed by EA and not Steam?

It's from EA... If you unlink a Steam account and link it again, it is linked for 6 months and you cannot unlink it: https://help.ea.com/en/help/pc/link-ea-and-steam/ check the unlink steam account section
