Answering your question:
Yes. It is possible to use "keyboard and mouse" for play 1 and "game controller" for player 2.
The problem is some tasks require inputs from both players at the same time. I don't know if you can manage to do that alone. It wouldn't even be fun to enjoy the game.

Suggestions:
You don't need to play with real-life/internet friends. Just post a discussion thread here and mention these for example:

• I own the game and I'm looking for a partner. Preferably evening time on the weekends. Playing with mic is preferred. EU Region
