Possible to play with a switch controller?

I only have one XBOX controller and wanted to know if it was possible to play with my switch controller since it worked on other games. thank you!

Had trouble connecting a PS4 controller to the game myself. Had to go to the Steam settings and activate the compatability mode that turns the PS4 controller into a Steam controller basically. Not sure if that would work with a switch remote. Are they bluetooth and can connect wirelessly to your PC?

There is also a "Switch Pro Configuration Support." That may be the one you are looking for.

i just had to set my switch controller to be recognised as an xbox one and it worked!

I use a switch pro controller with the 8bitdo wireless adapter and it turns itself off like every 30 seconds and has to be woken up by pressing any button

I use an Xbox One controller and a Switch Pro controller just fine. Both are connected through USB to my PC. You just have to make sure you tweak Steam's settings to recognize the Switch Pro. Do a quick search, it's very easy.

To be more specific about "set my switch controller to be recognised as an xbox one" : this is done well by BetterJoy (go check their github) and solved the problem on my side!
