There were probably a couple of times where she couldn't quite make a jump (she plays as May) and I quickly did it for her, then handed the joypad back and we carried on.
My honest opinion is 5 is (probably) too young - especially for some of the boss fights, like the Queen Wasp.
If you have the change to play with someone else, you should definitely buy it - it's better than you can ever imagine!
It's definitely more of an adult game in certain parts.

5 is probably too young, 8 is probably realistic, also speaking from a gameplay mastery perspective. Maybe I'm underestimating the skills of a 5 yo but you do need some frustration tolerance in this game.
I'm 50 and I think the Elephant scene is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. I wish I could unsee that scene, let alone show it to a child.
My nephew is 12, had wishlisted this and was going to play it with him, glad I didn't.
Oh, and you do get shot by and shoot at squirrels, if that bothers you. There's no blood but there are "guns", which I know can bother some people.
