From what I heard the friend who owns the game still streams the game to his buddy. Can someone who played confirm this? Because if it's true that's a major deal breaker.
Then what is this gentleman on about?

Very misleading if he's wrong since this is on top of other reviews.
He's an r-word. The friend's pass is literally what he wants it to be. It's a purposeful misinformation, he likely knows because he didn't enable comments so nobody can actually tell the truth. Report that review for misinformation.
This game gives you multiple options to play together, all of them require one user to own the game though.
1. Local couch coop: should be self explanatory
2. Remote play together: Pretty much local couch coop, except that the game owner streams his game to a friend who then joins in.
3. Friends Pass: Both players install the game and play it on their own system. The game owner hosts an online game and the friends pass user then joins that game. It's a simple peer-to-peer connection. No Streaming involved.
Report that review and say it's misinformation because it misrepresents FRIEND PASS, which does exactly what the review demands from the game and already exists.
