Does the Epic version of this game even work?
Trying to play this from the Amazon/Epic giveaway. First there were a bunch of problems with it for some reason repeatedly requiring me to login into my Epic Store account even though I was obviously already logged in since it is impossible to launch the game on Epic otherwise. Then I couldn't exit out of any of the options menus and had to repeatedly Alt-f4 after getting stuck before it finally for some reason started working and letting me hit escape to get out of the options. Then after sitting through all the opening cut scenes I find myself staring at a completely black screen with the curson visible and the label "1.0.4.4 WIN ENGLISH" in small lettering in the upper right but nothing else visible and sounds of a rain storm playing in the background. Hitting escape does nothing, moving the cursor and clicking around randomly does nothing. Only option is to Alt-f4 out of it. Restarting and hitting 'continue' does nothing to help, just loads me up into this same black screen with the rain sounds playing and the cursor and version logos the only things visible.

The files are in a Sub folder 'NON_EOS_VERSION_STASIS2' in the STASIS2 folder then run STASIS2.exe

In the Epic Launcher, located STASIS: BONE TOTEM
Right Click on The Stasis Icon or click the three dots next to the name.
Click on Manage.
You might need to update to 1.0.4.4B (Check version Number)
Verify, then Update.
This will bring up the setup panel.
location "Installation" click on the folder icon.
This will open explorer.
Find the folder "NON_EOS_VERSION_STASIS2"
Open it.
Double Click on STASIS2.exe
it will load 1.0.4.3 (Which is the same as the Steam and GOG build).

Enjoy.

If you want to add achievements manually to your EGS. Then Do the following:

Open the EOS version connecting to EGS with your account (You don't have to play the game).

Then From the menu:
Hit ~ (tilde)
Then type in ach 0 through to 19
And Enter...
This will add them to your account.

Else you can track them in our main menu if you do not care about the EGS points.

The Epic version is identical to the other stores, just with EOS support.

Can you try this:

Disable fast vsync in the Nvidia Control panel

I already have all v-sync option diabled in the Nvidia control panel since I have a G-Sync monitor. Now the game's refusing to save options again and refusing to let me exit the options menu, forcing me to repeatedly Alt-f4 and restart just to view the options (which aren't being saved I discover). I give up. Wanted to try it, out but it's not worth this much hassle trying to make a just plain broken game work.

Try to disable all programs which have overlays on screen like MSI Afterburner.

FYI, your EGS version specifically is broken I can confirm. Was curious enough to check so I downloaded a GoG version, and it ran with no problems. No issue opening and closing options menus, no issue with getting options to save. No issue with it failing to log me into to an online service (WTF is that even there for on EGS for a single player adventure game?). No black screen after the opening cutscene, the game appeared to start normally.

Are you sure the download isn't bugged? There are 100 players on EOS right now.

Yes, I verified game files several times, and EGS didn't find anything that needed fixing.

I'm pretty sure its a conflict with the EOS overlay and your setup. the GOG and Steam versions are identical except for the EOS overlay calls (login and achievements).

Same issue here....Nvdia Vsync is off but stuck at a black screen after opening cutscene.

this wont disable overlay at least for me, shift +f3 still brings up epic games overlay menu

Do you use the msi app mentioned earlier in this thread?

Could you try this.

Close the game.
When it starts, hit escape a few times to bypass the epic login.

nope i do not use msi app

despite hitting escape like a madman epic overlay still shows up and gamees goes to black screen
