Wolfglove pickup bug

I picked up the freshly flowered Wolfglove as the game opened the book to complete the entry and now I can't put it down or interact with anything. The gate also rang, and the writing alert me was stuck on the screen. I cannot press escape to view the menu.

Btw, I absolutely love this game and its concept. I live in Wiltshire, near Bath, Somerset is where my dad was born, and Devon is where I went to uni so I am thoroughly enjoying it. Thank you.
