Zero canister run?
I'm something of an achievement addict, so when I learned there were achievements for being a pacifist and for not making any creations I immediately started planning the best route to accomplish them. That quickly led me to the realization that most creations and spells would be absolutely useless for such a run, which means that the majority of the canisters wouldn't be worth grabbing.

That said, does anybody know if there is any difference in the ending for doing a low/no canister run in this game? I already know there wasn't in the original Geneforge, presumably because the dev never expected anybody to try anything that crazy, but then it was added in the later games along with ways to learn spells and creations without them. Since this was a ground-up rewrite of the original, and by now the dev knows that some nutjob like me is going to try to pull off a no canister run, I can't help but think he would have changed the ending, particularly the loyalist one, to account for it. Still, I'd rather not dive into something like that without knowing in advance only to end up disappointed.

So anybody know for sure if there's any difference, or should I just dive in and find out for myself?

There is no zero canister run, because you can't leave the starting area without using the first one.

According to the spiderweb forum, Jeff did add a minor change in the shaper loyalist ending if you use very few canisters in the game. But apparently it's very small, a single line.
