We have made Avernum saga (old-school, combat-heavy adventure in a vast underworld), the Geneforge series (utterly open-ended gameplay in a sci-fi flavored fantasy setting), and Avadon series (brutal politics in a vast, war-torn continent), and the Queen's Wish series (a giant fantasy adventure where you are royalty commanded to prove yourself by restoring the power of your empire).

Minor correction in that second sentence: Team instead of time. Though a good team does take time!

Hey so I have a quick question. I played a game that looked exactly like this when I was a child in the early 2000's. Judging by your post here, I'm guessing you've recreated that game here on steam?

Was it a complete remake? I can't imagine the engine it was created on back then is still a thing. I remember loving it back then.

Nevermind, I see now that this is indeed the same game (but it's been remade!) It's GREAT to see developers from my childhood still doing what made me get interested in CRPGs to begin with.

GREAT game as usual, I love geneforge 1-5 series and wished there's more, suddenly bam there it is on steam. Thank you so much!

Some minor, but critical suggestions:

1. Please please please allow us to keybind screen scrolling to w/a/s/d (left/up/down/right).

Most of us play with left hand around w/a/s/d, also to easily access 1/2/3/4/inventory/combat/quicksave etc. But it's such a hassle to move back/forth between w/a/s/d area and the left/up/down/right arrow when I want to move the screen. Moving to the edge of screen with mouse is a hassle too because a lot of times I need to click to move my unit really fast, but really hard switching when I have to quickly clicking on ground/going to edge of map. Currently, my workaround is: I changed the keyboard registry using ahk (rebind the arrows to w/a/s/d, but I almost locked myself lol as I stupidly didn't rebind w/a/s/d to the arrows. Good thing we have on screen keyboard). If you guys do this that'd be amazing! :)

2. Please give us option to "mute" unit so they won't be selected during combat/automatically skip turn.

This feature was present in previous geneforges but not this one. VERY useful during combat/stealth exploration.

3. In non-combat, please let us select individual units and move them individually; currently if I select a unit and move it, all units also move.

In geneforge 1-5 series, we can select individual units and make them move individually in non-combat. This option doesn't seem to exist here... I can select individual unit, e.g. I press 1 to select Andras/main character, then click to move him somewhere, but all of his creations also move there. Once we have a lot of creations, it'd be such a hassle to move 10 units into a room, triggering traps etc, while all we want is to explore with just 1 unit. I guess we can do this in fight mode, but it's annoying to switch back/forth fight mode so I can save. If the concern is "cheap creation suicide attack while Andras is safely placed next to border" abuse, we can make it so that in non-combat, creations can't go too far from the main character.

Sorry, I'm going to lock this thread. It's just a general info depository. If you have issues or suggestions, we'd love to hear about them. Just start a new thread for them.
