What is the pentil woods pool for?

Hey all,

What is the pool in the basement of the scavengers hut in pentil woods used for?

Ive clicked it a dozen times or so and just taken a bunch of acid damage. I havent found anything else I can click on and no other references to it. Whats it for?

you'll find two items (gotten together almost) that you can dip in that pool to upgrade them. there's 2 other pools and the related items get more effects/stronger for each extra dip. each pool can only be used once.

There's a total of 4 charging pools, each guarded by rogues a little tougher than what you'd find on the above-ground map. If you don't have 1 of the 2 items you can use there, make a note to yourself to come back later...

I have these items but I cannot dip them into the pool. Do I have to be taught about them first in some fashion? Or is it a certain order I can dip these in?

Yes, you have to talk to the NPCs in the area where you find the items. Then you can upgrade them.

Also, you should pick ONE and upgrade it all the way. You can't use both at the same time so there's no sense in splitting the pools.
