food averse dog issues?
Whenever I hatch a dog with the food averse trait it's consistently unable to eat any food without choking on it and getting hungrier + losing gut flora. Is this something other people have experienced? Is this just an irritating mechanic or d'you think I'm just incredibly unlucky?

I've had food averse dogs before, and I think the only difference is that they eat slower, unlike the glutton trait, which makes them eat faster. I may be off, but to me it just sounds like your dogs are young, young dogs I've found to be much more susceptible to choking. My only tip regarding dog-feeding is that you train your dogs to enjoy eating while they're young by petting them. Good luck!

agreed with the person who said your dogs are just young. glutton puppies and even puppies without any food traits may also choke on food a lot at times. im not sure why but some puppies just seem to choke more than others.

That might just be the case, it usually goes away as they get older. The only way I've found to deal with it is to pen the dog in and place food in the pen, if they eat it on their own they seem to choke less frequently. Appreciate the feedback!

No, my puppies choke on food a lot too, especially when you're trying to force-breed for traits. I've come to the conclusion they just get better at keeping food down as they age (10 min mark seems to be the first tipping point, then young adulthood (25+) onward.
