Region Lock?

The store page says it's not available in my region (Russia). I really hope this is some kind of mistake, considering the first game doesn't have any regional restrictions.

This is nonsense. Even Sims 4 is rated 18+ in Russia. But it is rated and available, not region locked.

This is certainly puzzling. Yuri games are usually sold in Russia no problem, even rather explicit ones like Kindred Spirits on the Roof. Russia doesn't censor any entertainment products, the infamous "anti-gay" law is just to stifle activism.

But the first game kinda sucked so I really can't say I'm mad about them blocking me from the sequel.

Российские органы НЕ занимаются цензурой видео игр, просто банально нет такой гос структуры, которая могла бы запретить выход игры в Стим в РФ, так что это исключительно личное дело издателя. В Стиме сотни ЛГБТ игр, а из заблокированных в РФ только эта и Tell Me Why (что Microsoft опять же по собственному решению решили не продавать на территории РФ и стран мусульманского мира).

Ты ещё скажи что у вас сайты с аниме и хентаем не блокируют.

Причём здесь порно-сайты? Мы про видеоигры говорим. Гос структуры не имеют возможности запрещать видеоигры. 100% региональных блоков в Стиме в РФ -- это всё по желанию издателя.

Это тут такой же прикол, как Твиттер аккаунты Bethesda. У них во время прайд месяца радуга на всех региональных аккаунтах кроме Турции, России и стран мусульманского мира[i.kym-cdn.com]. Но это не значит, что Турция и Россия им запрещают это делать. Просто Bethesda сами решили не рисковать репутацией в этих регионах.

Koei Tecmo наверное всё-таки сделают игру доступной в РФ, первая часть то доступна. И ЛГБТ контента тут кот наплакал, не больше того же Life is Strange. Пишите им в Твиттер.

Does russia require some trivial info to be submited for the game to be sold there?

Here in brazil, every steam game is required to submit a small form with multiple choice answers that are used for the game to automatically be rated in brazilian terms (a much faster and less burocratic rating than CERO or ESRB).

But even so, a small fraction of games (mostly VERY indie stuff) forget to do this while submitting their games, so they get auto locked out of brazil.

But once in a blue moon a bigger publisher somehow ♥♥♥♥♥ up and forgets to do this as well.

Warriors All Stars' DLC s were unexplicably region locked here in brazil like that. i remember spamming their contact email until they finally fixed it a few months afterwards.

As far as I know - No, there's nothing of such. I only know cases when some local publisher has already bought the rights and decided not to sell the game in Steam.
We have almost everything else here regardless of themes and ratings.
So it's probably about agreements between publishers or self-censorship.

Koei Tecmo with a genius business move yet again. Setting the age rating to be 18+ would completely circumvent any potential issues with the russian law, even though that's already an overkill. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater is an apt description of what they did here.
