Valve's Deadlock Disaster: Why Gabe Newell Must Take the Company Public
Valve's biggest fail? Look no further than Deadlock! An absolute catastrophe that makes Half-Life 3's absence seem like a minor inconvenience. Imagine this: Valve, the gaming titan, trying to launch Deadlock, only for the entire project to come crashing down in a mess of bugs, delays, and broken promises. It's like they were trying to outdo their own legendary disasters like Lost Coast in the most Valve way possible.

Some say Gabe Newell's ultra-secretive, ultra-flexible approach backfired spectacularly here, with no shareholders breathing down their necks to keep projects on track. If Valve went public, the theory goes, they'd be forced to deliver polished, finished products, finally removing Gae Newell has the head of the company.

Maybe Valve prefers the chaos, but hey—accountability could be the key. The market would be in a frenzy if Gabe had to explain how Deadlock spiraled out of control instead of hiding behind closed doors. So, is it time to take Valve public and ensure that disasters like Deadlock never happen again? Or would that destroy Valve’s freewheeling charm?

What?

First of all how is deadlock a disaster? It's an unreleased early development video game. Like what are these, Delays and Broken promises? We've never been given any release date in the first place so there has been no delays at all. And bugs there are yes but again this is literally an alpha and they aren't exactly big or game breaking just minor stuff.

second, like valve is struggling financially and would need to go public to maintain themselves from disasters. They still own the two top played games on steam currently (Dota 2 and CS2) and they own steam as a platform making a commission off of every single game purchased on here.

Like the company is far from a disaster, like to put it into perspective Gabe Newell has a higher network then Donald Trump.

This has to be some prompted AI crap by someone with a low IQ and a personal grudge to even waste their time doing so.

2003: Valve releases Steam and revolutionizes content delivery platform for 21st century.
2021 data leak: Valve has 336 employees, $8.9B USD annual revenue.
2024: Steam Deck continues to surge in popularity.

Think they're gonna be just fine with ol' Gabe.
yet you have played it for 97 hours. curious!

I don't agree.

The only disaster are the cheaters and the invite spammers (CURSES UPON THESE WRETCHES)

Home skillet, most public game companies can't make a finished product. You're just asking for really toxic monetization schemes and DLC out the ass. Sorry for necro'ing a dead topic, just find it funny to suggest that making something go public is going to make it better.

Bait post, they don't have to be public but Deadlock is Dead or Arrival.
