Nerfing Bebop's Bombs Is So Disheartening
As someone who has tried many characters but found the most enjoyment with Bebop, I really can't understand why the developers have nerfed Bebop's bombs in two consecutive patches. This playstyle isn't forgiving to begin with—it requires landing a hook first to even apply the bombs. Even after successfully attaching two bombs, the damage isn't always enough to secure a kill. Moreover, enemy abilities and purchased items can easily negate their effect, leaving Bebop in a cooldown window where he can't contribute much.

In contrast, other characters like infernus can take away nearly half of an opponent's health with just a passive activation, and Pocket/Lash ultimate can completely change the outcome of a team fight. The Bebop with bomb playstyle doesn’t provide consistent damage output. The first nerf already made applying two bombs feel clunky, and this latest nerf seems to kill off the playstyle altogether.

I don't understand why developers wouldn't want to encourage multiple viable playstyles for a character. Do they really want everyone to play Bebop like an AD assassin or like Seven using the ultimate? The variety in approaches is what makes a character interesting. I really saddened by this

Say hello to the players who are unable to buy items that are opposed to this skill.

They kill interesting and simple hero mechanics, but do not touch the toxic capabilities of infernus, haze....

its kind of insane to have that much strength on a point and click, not only that imagine ensuring your WHOLE kit lands from a hook that in itself is crazy

Double bomb was nigh guaranteed from a hook. And its damaged could stack incredibly high, especially if bebop landed bomb quite a bit in lane. Yes, Debuff Remover got rid of the bomb, but if someone had it you could just hook bomb, let them remove it, then hook bomb them again. I think the Devs just wanted to remove the absolute bomb hunting Thirst from Bebops who are running around like a madman bombing everything with a pulse so that it would deal 1100 damage at 25 minutes. Which makes sense, having a ridiculously stacking damage buff on ability hit means that players who opt for the playstyle all but have to focus solely on landing it constantly, to the detriment of all else.

Could Bebop maybe still use some retuning? Sure. But this game is likely going to change a lot in the coming year, cant get attached to anything really. I used to love building a massive attack speed Refresher Ult Yamato back when she had infinite ammo on her Ult. It was a ton of fun, they removed it, I was dissapointed, but I understand why. Tis simply the way it goes with an alpha

Absolutely feels useless now. Capping it at 15 stacks is wild late game it does almost nothing to double bomb people and to lose stacks as well on death cmon I can get down with one or the other but not both... now up the stacks to 30 and I might understand. I get late game double bombs were devastating but now they're bouncy balls.....

I think you have a point. I’m just really bummed because the big nerfs to the bombs in two patches have pretty much killed off this playstyle, which takes away some of Bebop's variety and fun. Thanks for your comment—I’ll try out some new builds and see see what happens in the future:steamthumbsup:

the nerf to hyper beam is also so disappointing not being able to put duration extension on it. I enjoyed playing hyper beam focused bebop so it kinda sucks now that i feel like im forced to play gun bebop again since his bombs suck now, his hyper beam sucks now etc
