Deadlock

Confirm/Secure and Deny
In Dota 2, it works just fine 'cause the game is top down view and I can keep track of everything. Not only that, but I can attack my own creeps at half HP to pull the lane even quicker towards me.

In this game, I don't have a top down view so i'm having a need of constantly moving around the camera to keep track of my oponnent, my creeps, their creeps and their respective floating soul orbs above them. It's definitely not the same. My sugestion would be to remove the floating orbs just for creeps and make it so that last hitting with guns and abilities would give you 100% souls and Melee last hits would go for 150%. This would keep the high risk high reward nature of Melee attacks while slightly reducing the mental stack during the laning phase.

What do you guys think? Is it a bad idea, is it a good idea or am I just having a gaming crisis caused by an overload of Skill issues.

I like the secure/deny mechanic. Even when Im losing on my secures, its usually because theyve taken a better position closer to my creeps and zoned me out. Because theres no true melee Heroes, i think it works ok. I personally do struggle with tunnel visioning on creeps and souls and missing the enemy repositioning around me unless my lane partner says something, so I totally understand that. But I like the positioning encouragement that securing/denying provides.

At the same time, this game could totally 180 and change everything and Im happy to just go with the flow. I dont know whats best for the game so I will let the community and the devs as a whole decide and Im sure I will enjoy whatever comes about

tbh and that's a me thing, but I dislike the farming/last hit dependance on MOBAs. I prefer much more the fighting aspect of it. I kinda like that we can't actually keep a tight track of every creep, even if the itemization is too brutal and overpowering right now.

And that's on top of how agressive the laning phase is compared to other mobas as dota and LoL. Here you can just keep shooting your oponent from afar (and it's quite annoying) while/instead of farming.

I would say that it's an overload of skill issues. This game has a LOT going on. It's definitely a different feel than DOTA, but it's also not DOTA. And you can generally see hp bars for creeps through walls, so it's possible to keep decent track of what has what hp.

Personally, I dislike DOTA's deny mechanics as I know it's just a holdover from the WC3 engine limitations. But it's here, and it's a bit different, and considering Ice Frog is involved, it's not going away.

This game has a way better deny/confirm mechanic then DOTA... in dota half the time it's people just awkwardly walking around either waiting for a perfect time to melee a creep as you're incessantly spam click back and forth or waiting for a moment to gank and instantly kill the other person/people with zero recourse.

You make a SINGLE mistake in where you stand in Dota and you die without being able to do anything thing about it, and it's especially worse since there's 2000 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ heroes to keep track of along with the itemization. I think I have 100 hours in Dota 2 and I have yet to see probably 50% of the game's heroes. (I know 100 hours is NOTHING I'm just saying there's characters nobody bothers to even play)

ive looked at clips on youtube and the last hit/deny soul mechanic looks horribly unfun. it just doesnt fit with a fast paced shooter. wanted to try the game after several youtubers said its good, but watching them play it looks awful.

that mixed with any time i open the forums for this game i lose all faith in steam/valve... this is their game on their platform and their forums look the worst of any game on steam. scamtastic

trully boggles the mind how the people at valve thought this forum invite spam is a good way to spread access to their game. but because of it i truly lost so much faith in them, its like they dont care alrdy
