Not able to lane with party anymore

Ever since this last update, my friend and I have not been able to do any starting lanes together. It makes playing in a party kind of not fun and pointless.

Is this a bug? I know they gave lane priority... But the first two times this happened, neither of the people who were given lane priority were on our team. Either way, it's was extremely disappointing.

Deserved, unless they make your enemy a party as well I don't see why they should deal with fighting against a party.

You can literally lane any where you want. You don't have to stay in the lane you start in.

I think your thoughts on the matter are kind of lame. If they’re not playing with friends and are assigned a duo, they can use voice chat like everyone else.

The whole point of playing multiplayer games with friends in a party is to play with your friend. I don’t think what I’m saying is unreasonable. It’s not like I’m asking for us to be assigned to a lane that is 2v1.

Oh for sure, I totally could if I wanted to be a bad teammate and abandon my lane. I don’t want to have to abandon my lane to be able to play with my friend.

Alright... So today, my friend and I were both assigned to different duo lanes. And the people we were in a lane with, was another two person party on our team, that were also not paired together.

So this is most certainly a bug.

I don't know why these comments are so rude.
Multiple games iv asked to swap lane to be with my friend, but I never get a reply.
What's the point in partying up with my friend if I cant be in the same lane as them, why have this feature originally then remove it?
My only guess is they are putting players against others depending on similar skill as iv played more games than my friend.
I hope they bring the feature back

I fully agree with you. I only made this post and noticed that I'm never in a lane with my friend, because it's exactly opposite to how it was prior to the 10/10/2024 patch.

I also don't know why people feel the need to be jerks. The steam forums just attracts the dredges of the community. Doesn't matter what video game it is, 90% of interactions I see are negative, troll-like garbage. I just wish there was a better place to send feedback for the game, than the two forums.

Bumping this for exposure hopefully. If valve intended this, they need to reverse it. If it is unintended, they need to fix it. ♥♥♥♥♥ not fun when you bring a new friend in for their first game and you want to help guide them and teach them, but you get put on a solo lane and they're grouped with a random.

Yeah I noticed that. It's really annoying as I usually play with a friend. Hopefully they fix it, it certainly feels like when we were paired up in the past we were playing against another pair that were communicating too. Like someone above says we've asked to swap lanes a couple of times in the lobby and never got a response, and once had someone swapped lanes to be with their friend without communicating which screwed up our early game.

Plus when you’re assigned to a lane, for the first ten minutes you share the souls from killing that lanes creeps with your lane partner
