True, but you really shouldn't be shocked at team mates getting heated in a team based game, and sadly some people quit mid match and others fed, so asking random strangers to always get along is kind of asking alot honestly. People really should learn to mute others if they dont like what they are say or if they find them annoying.

A mature only option for Vc would be helpful maybe.

Pretty much. It's smart to play like your team is going to feed. If they do feed, you can try and carry. If they don't, then things will go great.

The dev (Yoshi) has stated that simple trash talking is probably fine, but slurs and threats (as well as other toxic stuff like intentionally feeding) are not.

So the line is pretty clearly drawn.

Hard disagree. Some people deserve to be called bundles of firewood in retaliation for feeding or just as part of the trash talk cycle. Don't want to participate? The mute button is there.
