What even is the point of jungling
I'm brand new to mobas so i thought jungling was a trade off where you could trade not pushing the enemy objective in order to get more souls. but just now i realized even a tier 3 camp not only barely gives you souls overall, those souls are unsecured and it takes like 5 minutes for you to get all of them, and if you die you wasted your time when you could've gotten 10x that amount of souls immediately by just killing creeps

It's extra income for your team on top of enemy creeps and this makes it very important. (creep rewards are *split* among nearby players starting from 10:00, so being on lane with another hero doesnt give your team more souls)

Regarding unsecrued thing, you can just spend them right away - afaik they are spent first.

ok so it's something you should rarely do then? (only past 10 minutes when pushing a lane with a teammate and there are no enemies?) i see a lot of people who spend their time jungling when split laning or defending their lane in midgame, is that just a straight up waste of time and the best strategy would just be to either go to the team fight or focus on the objective when split laning?

Team fights are bad unless they have specific goal. Just team fighting for the sake of it is how all the newbie games are lost.

In ideal situation past 10:00 you have 1 hero on every lane and the other two are jungling or doing something else. Adjust proportionally to pressure from enemy, go teamfighting when you can break some objective.

You kill tem as often as possible. Not all characters are good at it, at least not eraly on.
At some point you rarely stay on one lane, take them with hyou when switching.
After killing a wave of creeps you can easily take down one camp until thhe next wave arrives. Repeat.

Farm wins games. If you want to hyperfarm, you have to jungle.

yeah the camps give too little souls for them to be worth it

You shove and then do it. Or do it while the enemy is dead, the camps are absolutely worth because you dont have to miss anything for them and its a free bonus.

Depends how quickly you can kill them, and what's going on in the game. Like others have said, in the first 10 minutes staying in lane is top priority. After 10 minutes, staying in lane is still really good farm AS LONG as you don't have someone else with you. You two each get half at that point.

So instead you dip out of the lane and jungle while your lane partner farms the lane. If he gets in trouble, you do your best to swing back and give him some support, then head back out to jungle again.

If you've got a good jungle build, you'll find you can make WAAAY more souls in a given period of time once you figure out how to maximize your uptime between lane, jungle, and even the vase. You always want to be gaining. Minimize the seconds you spend not earning souls.
