How do you feel about Deadlock being Dead?

Tonight it happened, Deadlock fell from the top 100 most played games. Deadlock is dead at the moment, last night player count dipped to 9100 the lowest it's been since the NDA lifted 3 months ago.

In light of the approaching new year and remembering back on the times spent in the game, what are some hopes you had or have for this game? do you see it making a comeback? Do you think Deadlock is dead for good?

The game is still the second most wish listed game on steam, where have all the players gone?

Why are steam forums always full of weirdos buying steam accounts spewing nonsensical garbage?

i played 10 games total, 1 game every 3 days. by the time i got to my last couple games i was just abused every game. everyone seemed to know what they were doing and i was still learning. I had good aim coming from other fps but it seemed to drop me in experienced lobbies creating a toxic environment. this is something dota also did and valve needs to work on the match making, i think thats what killed it honestly.

I would suggest not playing in off hours (outside the six hour window of 10 am to 4pm PST). Another rule of thumb: if you get a lot of two, three man parties (you'll notice) there's a good chance the matchmaking is not adequate for your region.

As for getting stomped: that's just MOBA / RTS life. Learn what the items do, learn the kind of game your hero should be playing (or copy an opposing player's item builds).

The needing an invite is enough to scare off 90% of people. You'd be surprised how little friction it takes to turn people away. This is the first game i've play in years that has me looking forward to playing and wanting me to get better at it. When they want to expand the player base and release it, I expect it will be as big as DOTA.
As big as DOTA minus the lousy character design. The Concord looking characters will cost them, but it will still do well.
