Why even have voice chat
Why even have voice chat as a feature in the game if you censorious cucks are just going to pre-mute everyone?

It is difficult.

I remember the days when you had the unwritten rule that if you saw someone facing a wall they were texting a message and you let them be,.....

But in all fairness, it is difficult to have a voice system when you have many hate-spammers. Especially when playing a game like this.

The question is, FB... how many times did you get complaints? I am not siding with anyone, but if Steam has you on record with multiple complaints from different individuals.....
My theory is that you are being gagged more for your own protection than for other people's protection.
I turned off ingame-voice instantly
I am not interested in getting either some language i don´t understand, some russian dudes talking just to each other or being insulted for my gameplay style.

-> Ingame voice -> 0%. Done.

It's the only way to play these kinds of games enjoyably tbh.
Settle down, ok?
Fine you do you but if your not going to participate in the voice chat by at least listening to whats going on, please please please turn off competitive mode in your matchmaking settings. This way people that are willing to deal with the 10% of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on comms (I know its tough and those rare occasions can spoil a game) can have a better chance of queuing with the other 90% that are actually decent humans just wanting to maximize their comp gaming time and socializing while doing so. Cheers

Agreed. I miss it. I remember UT99 days where you had to type to talk. Common netiquette was to face the wall while typing to indicate you were messaging and people would not shoot you (so long as you did not have the flag or anything).

Then came voice chat (TF2?) and, so long as you were on a good server, was awesome.

I can sympathize with what Mmm is saying, but that should just be an easy option to mute a player OR make it so AI translates them to text so it does not overshadow the teammates you want to hear.

The BEST would be for these game to actually make voice channels like they do text. Make a group from part of your team, talk all, etc AND give you the option to mute whatever ones you want.

This is testing phase. Do it and tweak it now.

Netiquette in GunZ the Duel and S4 League was stellar, too.
In GunZ, casual players would come up with their own rules that the game itself couldn't enforce, but the community stuck to them anyway, solid stuff.
In S4 League, if the enemy team were short a player, it was common courtesy for one of the players on the larger team to sit on the side until another player dropped in. It may sound like a big ask today, but those matches could be pretty short (and I was a bit of a tool and sat in the goal post because I thought I was being funny).

You still get it these days, but it's not as common.
Still, I think ♥♥♥♥ talking is great, as long as it's towards the opposing team, especially if they're winning and are obviously better players. Nothing is funnier than a saltcano
