♥♥♥♥♥♥ matchmaking
The game has a great art style, intriguing lore, and fun, engaging gameplay. However, the biggest issue is the matchmaking. The player pool is very small, and as a result, nearly every match ends up being a chaotic mix of skilled players and complete novices (or maybe just idiots). It's common to see teammates die 20–30 times in a match, effectively handing the enemy team an advantage in terms of XP and money.

Ironically, most of my victories come not from good teamwork, but because the opposing team has one or two players who just mindlessly feed kills. Next match, those very same feeders might be on my team, and no matter how well I play, there's only so much I can do to carry a team dragging itself down.

If you are a MOBA player, know that DL matchmaking is much much worse than in Dota or LL where matches are somewhat balanced due to large player base.
I do not recommend this game. It is a pain to play unless you play it with friends.

I agree. Hopefully when it launches it'll have a good resurgence of players which will help a lot. Ultimately the game also needs more time to cook though, it definitely needs polishing, and while the art style is interesting, it also feels all over the place with some character designs. Vyper and Sinclair straight up look like placeholder models to me. Abrams with his new model and textures look great so I'd imagine that's what is going to happen with the entire cast. And I like that they've started adding in unique dodge and melee animations of characters.

The actual game balancing of course needs more work and it seems like they are still tweaking the map to see what they like. Overall fun game with potential, but needs more time to develop it's identity and hopefully when launch comes it'll be a solid game and hopefully retains a healthy player-base. I'll most likely continue playing it casually throughout the "beta" lifespan even if it can be frustrating in it's current state.
The secret to win is to play Dynamo. It doesn't if you feed, because as long as you ult in the enemy team, you can blame your own team for your lose, and consider yourself the sole victor of the non-existing argument.

Yes, for sure, most models, especially the Hero Labs ones, are just rough sketches of the final models. I also agree about the style; it is a bit all over the place. However, I don't have an issue with that. It is crap matchmaking that creates so much frustration. I am certain that the game loses playerbase not because they don't like the style but because they get frustrated with matchmaking.

I completely agree. I just uninstalled the game for this exact reason and came to air my grievances with matchmaking. Like you, I only have games where I roll the other team or they roll me. There is no inbetween. No close calls. No clutch wins. No tragic losses. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that it becomes obvious which side of the match I'm on by 10-15 minutes at most. I then have to sit there for 15-30 more minutes while the enemy team stomps me into the ground, and I have no recourse to correct the situation or leave the match. I just had 7 straight matches in a row where I lost because I had one or more teammates running a buffet for the other team.

I actually like the game a lot: that's why I sat through ~4 hours straight of unfair matchmaking and kept trying. But if this isn't fixed when the game releases then its as good as dead. Nobody wants to sit for 40 minute games where matchmaking determines whether they win or lose before the game starts.

Yes, I like the game too! I also went throught the same ♥♥♥♥ like you did just because I like it so much.

The ♥♥♥♥♥♥ matchmaking issue could be resolved though. I think one solution could be to give the "respawn cooldown" to feeders. That is, if a player dies too often without getting anything in return, this player must get a longer and longer respawn time. Also, the team must have an ability to vote kick a player with very high negative impact (like 10 death, no kills, no assists, no objectives).

I noticed that when the teammates who drug the team down abandon or DC the chances of winning actually go up. Sometimes, we are able to comeback as 5 or even 4.

DL is a team game. Therefore, a team should have a say or a choice how and who gets top play in the match. Right now, we are powerless, we get matched with randoms and we never know if we get matched with a human or mindless feeding bot.

Also, in the game, when a player gets kills, there is a voice that usually praises the hero. I think the opposite should also be implemented. A voice should call out people who feed or have really sloppy careless play.

Player retention I feel is a mixture of a lot of issues with the game in it's current state. Hero and item balance still needs work (obviously nothing will be perfectly balanced), matchmaking is indeed horrible, overall polish of the game (bugs, inconsistent skills, animations getting stuck, etc.) and I think lack of progression of any kind doesn't help either; personally I don't care, but I know for a lot of people if there's nothing to work towards then they won't stick around.

These are good points. Aside imbalances, there is a rank system now.
