I play in a 2-player group. why does the game put my friend in a duo lane with another player, while making me solo lane?

I'd understand if my friend is also put in a solo lane, since it's possible the other 4 players are also in pre-made groups. But thats not the case. He's just placed with another player on our team, while I'm alone

They need to have a dedicated solo queue so people like you and your friend stop getting unfair advantages against solo players.

Me and my friend are having the same problem, we didn't at first. I'm going to guess it's a skill gap issue due to the matchmaking. Either you or your friend are just plainly better than the other, or you both are better than average and he gets teamed with a noob for balancing. This is all conjecture though.

same here, at first we got matched together but not anymore. now he is always the one getting put in a duo lane every single time (and i solo). So def some sort of algorithm going on in the background and what u said makes sense

People who stack tend to not communicate with the team and just communicate with each other. Talking with the other people on their team is often beyond them - they're just talking to the people they stack with in private comms. It's another reason I hate when there isn't a dedicated solo queue.
