Leaver penalty WAY too punishing

1 hour ban + having to play a game with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ after leaving one match because my teammates kept feeding on purpose is lame as hell. Change it.

There is nothing wrong with leaving a game in progress. Why should I suffer a 3 hour ban for something that is out of my control? If I abandoned a game, you can also leave for free and queue into another game. So in fact it's actually beneficial for you when someone abandons a game. The only thing that leaver punishment does is encourage the wannabe leavers to grief in game by intentionally feeding or afk'ing. We do this in order to end the game faster for what is considered a loss.
In the end of the day, it's just a video game why do you care so much if you win or lose? If you're really as good as you think you are, you can still win with one teammate down.

its totally fine with 1 hour ban ... you ruin the games for the rest, no matter if its the winning team or the losing one. There are already way to much leaver just because they cant handle a losing lane. Today I had someone leaving after he had 500 souls ... in multiple games. If you want to constantly get easy wins go play a singleplayer game. Today we had 2 leavers at once, just before the first walkers were fallen. We managed to win the game 4 vs 6. Comebacks in this game are fairly easy and doable, you just need to learn how to play when youre behind, but those noobs who ragequit the game instantly when they cant stomp will never learn this I guess. I would even say increase the time not being able to queue even longer for every match you leave, after a whole week it resets. Because people like this "play" a game by not playing and the whole community needs to get rid of those kids because they are many.

Just a game, huh? Then why not just stick around? Are you getting upset being in a "losing game"? It's just a game, right? Why do you care so much about going to the next match so fast if it's just a game? Why is it so important you get to leave match as much as you want with no penalties if it's just a game? It's just a game, so what's the problem with standing around in a match for a little bit longer? Is it because it's "unfun"? What about it being unfun for everyone else when someone leaves a match that just barely starting tilting in the enemy team's favor? Don't you think that's unfun?

Leaver penalties should ramp up the more games you abandon in a row. No one is going to thank you for leaving, you unbearable narcissist.

Queue up for the next one and do it all again. You do realize people in real life have these things called... family? Pets? Along with other IRL responsibilities?
You can still win a 5v6 even a 4v6 like the other guy did. This is a modern video game's industry idea that we are forced to play their game or get a punishment for leaving. There are way more multiplayer games that do not punish you for abandoning a match. It's a video game. Not a job. It's meant to be a leisure activity. If I don't want to play with this team, I should entirely be able to abandon the game and join a new one. If in another scenario... If said player is being verbally abused in the game, why should that player be punished for abandoning the game? You really think he should be forced to sit there in front of his monitor for the next 30 minutes? How does that make sense?


-IMO the most a ban should be is around 15-30 minutes. The minimum should be that you can't play until the current match is over.

The lockout isnt for people needing to leave to take care of something its for people that want to have a piss fit about something and quit and get into another game instantly

Yes this is true. I'm only arguing against the idea of increasing the punishment. It's already too punishing. The ban does ramp up, first of all. First offense is 15 minutes, 2nd is 1 hour, and the 3rd+ is 24 hours. Then, LP on top of that. Low priority is matchmaking hell. It'll take up to an hour to find a match and it's entirely a ridiculous waste of time.

Weird, I've been playing this game now for hundreds of hours and I haven't got 1 single leaver ban, and I've been dc'ed and such and never got punished for it.

It's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lenient if you're the kind of player that actually respects the fact the game isn't all about you.
