Invalid install path - Invalid game configuration

Hello,
When I tried to play Deadlock today I got an error message that said "Invalid game configuration" and no matter what I did (verifying the integrity, steam restart, running as admin) nothing helped.
Eventually I uninstalled the game and now when I try to reinstall it I get the error message "Invalid install path".
I can not do anything, has this happened to anyone else? If so, what's the fix?

I just restarted my PC, then launched Steam as admin once again and it allowed me to download and play it aswell.
I guess the only thing you can do is restart your pc a couple of times and run steam as an admin. Time is the best medicine.

UPDATE: Actually reinstalled again and suddenly it works? Didn't do anyhting else but I am playing right now. Good luck

Sounds like steam got hung up and caused error until system restart. Could be game, cause early access or steam, if nothing was changed recently on your end.
