Yeah, before I installed deadlock I kind of got the vibe it was a "fun" game not to be taken seriously like tf2. But apparently not. Maybe I'm just crazy but I think games should be designed to be fun.
If they made a game mode where you didn't have to worry about getting tower dove for 20 seconds straight at level 3 and having 50% of your souls stolen by people with better internet then maybe it would be a bit more fun for me and all the other individuals who aren't addicted to methamphetamine.
I think it's fun to watch.
A quick google search reveals that Deadlock is being watched on Twitch by a lot of people. It took me literally seconds to find that out.
Not that this is proof of anything, it's a new surprise game by Valve to be fair, so you could have a point.
Characters do not feel polished, and certainly not balanced. Have you seen how some characters Urn run?!
Viscous and Warden and Kelvin use the exact same bone model. They share most of each other's animations, they even have the same gun, except Viscous' is un-textured!
Yamato was ported right out of Neon Prime, but unlike Lash, who only needed very slight tweaks for his design to fit in, Yamato's just... Can't?
Did you know that Ivy's Kudzu zone ignores elevation? As long as you're stood on ground, it doesn't matter how high above it you are, you're treated as being inside it.
Sometimes, Viscous cube just doesn't protect you at all for no reason.
Almost the entire cast use the same punching animation, with some models morphing awkwardly to match it.
A TON of animation glitches exist, plenty from very typical and even expected interactions.
I want you to look at a wall, any wall, anywhere in that game. Take a screenshot. do that randomly 5 or 6 more times. The next day, look at those screenshots in a random order, tell me you know where the hell you were when you took those. You wont be able to. Most of the walls don't have proper textures!
This game is in early dev. It is 110010% not polished.
It changes from the norm for sure, but there's more mechanical skill required in lane and in general gameplay with this game. Not having to take in the exact goings on in another lane is a relief in this one case, where otherwise I think you'd be right.
I think the map design would be less restricted if there were a shoulder swap, though. I really want a shoulder swap and it wont happen.
