Deadlock

Deadlock

Until this game gets more servers and better matchmaking. Deadlock is surviving on hype only.
deadlock gives a nice macabre/steampunk twist to the MOBA landscape but even in its early access open-beta phase, there are lots of fundamental issues, primary of which is accessibility.

currently there are only 5 server locations. and often if you are between two geographically steam will choose at that moment based on connection, but it creates constant dissonance between matchmaking and connection, often resulting in disconnecting and false penalties.
even a month later after "public beta" they haven't resolved this issue. for the primary group of North American players or European players or Chinese players this might not be an issue, but for everyone else its a real impact. for example all of "Asia" has to connect to Hong Kong. when you combine that with steam issues, connection to deadlock server issues, etc. it makes it less than an enjoyable experience resulting in may players trying the game to be disappointed they cant experience it or having their experience ruined.

the influx of players trying to play is creating hype and active player count but unless these issues are fixed it will look like every shooter style moba with a core group of few thousand players dwindling toward death.

i hope they fix this but until then, like many players i cant play even if i want to.

The game is bad. Why? Look at the player count. Already lost -70k players in a month... its from valve and a new game in the gaming landscape. But already doing team fortress 2 numbers? Matchmaking. Terrible. Developers? Asleep.

I know I'm necroing this thread but I 100% agree. The matchmaking is so awful that I genuinely don't feel bad leaving a game early when I get matched up against like the top tier players or the game decides to give me a bad solo lane cause heaven forbid we choose our lanes at the start.
