Bullet velocity
I mostly play Dynamo but as having one of the lowest bullet velocity, I'm usually screwed against a decent opponent. Can someone explain to me what the use us to give a major disadvantage to certain hero's early game. If I basically cannot farm souls, the opponent will always win? Why not keep things balanced and give everyone a fair chance? Even the bullet velocity item will still result in me having less velocity than most.

Melee your creeps, zone out your opponent so you can go uncontested.

Also, bullet velocity is a relatively small difference at close range, your reaction time and mag size matters far more than bullet velocity difference.

Tbf the last hitting mechanic is very much experimental so expect it to change at lot. for now, I'd say the laning phase is just plain boring.

Soul Securing now prioritizes the player who last hit the creep when two projectiles hit at almost the same exact time, so especially with HV Mag you should be able to secure your souls if your quick on it, otherwise the opponent is getting there faster than you, and having even higher bullet velocity likely wouldnt have made much of a difference. But as the guy above said, things will likely keep changing and changing throughout the early builds of this game.

I love laning phase though, its by far the most fast paced and exciting laning phase in any Moba. You have to be so fast and smart about your positioning and farming and poke if you want to win lane. Way more interesting than 'Click 2000 times in a weird pattern so your movement if hard to predict while you and your opponent both stare at the same slowly dying creep for 9 seconds" like Mobas usually have

Bullet velocity is just another lever the devs can use to balance different heroes, like giving heroes different hp pools, movement speeds, damage, etc. (Not saying this particular situation is balanced or not.)

So the reason why "bullet velocity" differs between heroes is because Valve/Icefrog want to make certain heroes a little bit weaker when laning at range (the only time bullet velocity really matters). The other way to look at it is that Valve/Icefrog is trying to force you to play Dynamo closer to the fight if you want to consistently confirm souls.

If I play other heroes, I can secure the souls a lot easier. So these claims that it doesn't really matter... I just know that is not true. It definitly does matter. Why otherwise would they include it in the game in the first place? So do not minimize it, it doesn't make any sense.

I just think it shouldn't have such a high impact in the early game.

I think the reason why a lot of people don't like the first ten minutes of a game is due to the confrontation of seeing that you might get outclassed by someone in a direct manner. This is why people tend to like team-based games so then they can blame someone else for their mistake (and mitigate the negative psychological impact). But to add to this that someone has a clear advantage over you for the first 10 minutes, for me at least, makes it the more frustrating.

I think a solution here would be to start with a map with 2 lanes in stead of 4. This way, you can get to the fun part of having teamfights sooner and the people with the slow velocity can focus less on the soul shooting. I think it would be worth experiencing with...

They may indeed add new maps, other Mobas have done it before! And with my post earlier, mind you, im not trying to say "bullet velocity doesnt matter", thats why High Velocity Magazine exists in the first place, so it does. But you can make it matter less. Viscous has half of Dynamo's bullet velocity, so I have to play super close up to the creeps im securing and get HV Mag as one of my first buys. Even against a strong Lane opponent, that "Last Hitters Advantage" means I can secure almost all of my farm as long as I can keep that close distance

You may be trying to secure farm from too far away, you may not be as good at using his pistol compared to other Heroes (not throwing shade, im terrible with Ivy's weapon but look like an Ace in comparison using Viscous'), but I know you can mitigate his bullet velocity issues. You just cant secure farm under the bridge from behind tower like you can with some other Heroes. Thats fine, Dynamo, Viscous, Kelvin, and company are not meant to be snipers
