Damn, thanks for this info - so we're back to the beginning what could be the reason for this problem :D
It comes down to 2 possible options as far as I can tell:
1. Our accounts are flagged, go figure why.
2. The invite system bugged out due to the massive demand, and it thinks we are already accepted without the invitation actually getting through. This makes subsequent invitation attempts pointless since we're "already" in. The odds anyone actually fixes that are probably the same as someone answering my support ticket.
It is what it is. I refuse to open an alt and spend money to play something everyone else gets for free. There are other games to play out there.
1. These accounts are not flagged but just bugged (mostlikely by family share/view stuff).
2. I just want to know what the limitations are, I don't mind spending money.
What you have to do to remove your limited status is spent 5$. I only have a german link for the article, but look at the steam help for "limited account" and you will probably find the same article in any language: https://help.steampowered.com/de/faqs/view/71D3-35C2-AD96-AA3A
What about 15 days with steam guard turned on? On marketplace the restrictions are based on steam guard aswell.
I am also leaning toward it being bugged rather than the accounts being flagged, but it's impossible to know. I have never had family sharing on, if that is what you are implying may cause this problem.
